CAIRO, N.Y. — A town man was arrested Friday and charged with seven counts of felony rape, according to a press release from state police.
The release said Kenneth W. Vlasaty, 25, of Purling, a hamlet in the town of Cairo, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, following “an investigation into allegations involving unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.”
Police allege that Vlasaty engaged in unlawful sexual conduct on multiple occasions with a 16-year-old victim.
Vlasaty was charged with seven counts of rape (actor 21 or more, vaginal sexual contact with a person under the age of 17), all felonies, as well as two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of unlawful dealing with a child, all misdemeanors.
Vlasaty was arraigned in Cairo Town Court and sent to Greene
