Crews were called to a vehicle fire on Monday morning on Interstate 476, the Blue Route, about 8:45 a.m.

An officer from Broomall Fire Company was passing by the scene in the opposite direction and reported the engine compartment was “well off.”

Dispatchers identified the vehicle as a Brink’s armored truck. The fire was in the area of mile marker 7.7 in Marple Township.

Radio traffic showed “there is liability in the back.” It’s not clear how much “liability.” It also showed there was a driver on scene.

The fire units made themselves available 9:22 a.m. State police would be investigating, but by Sunday afternoon there was no word from the Media station.
