SALEM A K9 with the Salem Police Department has died unexpectedly.

According to a post on the City of Salem Police Department K9's Facebook page, K9 Blitz died last week from what is being described as a "sudden illness." The exact nature of the illness is unclear.

The post says Blitz was the younger brother to K9 Simon.
