One man who was probably late for work one day should probably get a break, as the Calgary Fire Department says the Good Samaritan pulled over to rescue someone from a burning motorhome on Sunday.

Battalion Chief Scott Cowan says the flames engulfed the motorhome on the intersection of 39 Avenue and 36 Street NE just after 10 a.m.

That’s when an unidentified man pulled over and jumped into action, pulling the person in the fiery vehicle to safety.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have contact with the bystander because they were very heroic and then needed to get to work, so they had to keep going,” he tells 660 NewsRadio.

Firefighters don’t know how it started, with Cowen adding it was a surprising situation since there was lots of smoke and flames, and it happened right on the roadway.
