Officials Monday tried to determine what caused a person to drown and die at MacArthur Lake in the Westlake Community of Los Angeles.
After receiving a report of a drowning at around 11:32 a.m., first responders were sent to the lake and discovered a body, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The deceased appeared to be an adult, but there was no confirmation on whether it was a male or female.
The preliminary cause of death was undetermined.
Fire officials were seen setting up a canopy by the lake.
