YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Overnight, the labor contract for the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Musicians expired.
The musicians never met with the Youngstown Symphony Society Board to negotiate a new contract.
The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Musicians posted on Facebook about it on Monday.
"At midnight last night, our contract expired. And without a single negotiation session ever being scheduled, we now find ourselves locked out of the work we've dedicated our lives to. That is unacceptable," the post said. "Until the Youngstown Symphony Society honors its obligation to bargain in good faith, these artists will continue to stand -- not just for themselves, but for the dignity of every worker who deserves respect at the negotiating table."
