LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - After months of closures, both westbound lanes on the I-210 Bridge are open, at least for now.

Since March, westbound traffic on the bridge has been down to one lane while crews install new lighting and make repairs . DOTD said the project is almost finished and expected to be completed this week, weather permitting.

DOTD opened both westbound lanes of the bridge to drivers for the Labor Day weekend. However, one lane will close again starting Tuesday morning. It will temporarily reopen this weekend and briefly close again on the morning of Monday, Sept. 8, before opening permanently that evening.

The lane closure schedule is as follows:

6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 through 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5: Westbound left lane closed for electrical work

6 p.m. Friday,
