NORTH AUGUSTA – This village’s annual Labour Day Festival is an impressive event.

The festivities began on Thursday and kept rolling, not losing steam, right through to Monday, with the annual Labour Day parade.

“Where else do people dedicate their Labour Day weekend to their community?” observed Level 2 umpire Dan Renaud. “Here in North Augusta people began arriving at 8 this morning for ball games that started at 9 and they have been here all day. It’s amazing!”

With all the usual suspects like the Shriners and more, the parade rolled through the village led by the Kemptville Legion Pipe and Drums under the direction of Pipe Major Hugh Metcalfe.

The band was created in 1957 by Ralph Munro and is the only band that can wear the Munro tartan.
