HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Across the country and in Connecticut, unions and community groups are joining forces.

There are nationwide Labor Day protests against President Trump and billionaires taking place today.

“We believe that the people who are important are every day people in America, not those with power and money,” said Laura Smits, Co-President, League of Women Voters CT.

Today, the north lawn at the state capitol was packed with passionate people opposing the Trump Administration.

Labor unions and community groups say they want to remind Americans of the power of the working class while calling out billionaires for their outside role in our country’s politics.
