A man in Colorado is under arrest after allegedly trying to run down his ex-girlfriend's mother and instead crashing his SUV into her home — as well as a second "unrelated" home — in what officials are calling a domestic disturbance .

The man, who has not been publicly identified, was taken into custody following "a domestic disturbance incident in the Hyland Greens neighborhood" the Westminster Police Department said in a statement on Sunday. Officers had responded at around 10:45 a.m. that day to "reports of two separate incidents involving a vehicle and private residences," the statement said.
