FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Joseph Maldonado, also known as Joe Exotic from Netflix’s Tiger King, has filed a lawsuit against Black Pine Animal Sanctuary .

BACKGROUND: Joe Exotic intends to sue Black Pine Animal Sanctuary over ‘endangered species’ neutering

Maldonado announced his intention to sue in May, after the sanctuary, which has custody of four tigers — Prince, Ima, Elvis, and Patronus —previously owned by the “Tiger King,” announced its plans to neuter one: Elvis, a white Bengal tiger.

In May, 21Alive spoke with Kimberly Huth, lead keeper at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, who said white tigers are “man-made.” She said Elvis, like many white tigers, is inbred and suffers from deformities, including crossed eyes.
