A teenager who prosecutors say was killed by her boyfriend is remembered for her “vibrant spirit,” according to her obituary .

Kylee Monteiro, 18, was reported missing by her boyfriend, Gregory Groom , 22, on Aug. 8.

Monteiro previously told Groom that she was 11 weeks pregnant with his baby and the pair got into a fight on Aug. 6, according to the police.

Police said that Monteiro told her sister, Faith Monteiro, that Groom threw her on the ground, pulled her hair and strangled her.

Monteiro sent a text to her sister that reads: “My phones at 4% if I die it was Greg.”

On Aug. 19, Groom and Faith Monteiro arrived at the police station for an interview. During the interview, Groom admitted to killing his girlfriend.
