Labor Day for hundreds of Chicago workers meant standing in solidarity against what they call a billionaire takeover of the government.

On Monday in Chicago's West Loop, hundreds of people from dozens of unions came together, from the Chicago Teachers Union, to hospitality workers, Teamsters union members, healthcare employees and their allies, to rally against the Trump administration's federal cuts.

"I think solidarity among workers is probably the most important thing we can do right now," said participant Mark Petersen. "We’re looking at our country get disassembled from the top down, and the best thing we can do is unite from the bottom up."
