The Los Angeles Police Department Monday released some details of its investigation into an officer shooting, which injured a man in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles over the weekend.
Police said when officers were conducting patrol inside a liquor store at the corner of 9th Avenue and West Jefferson Boulevard at around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, they spotted a man who appeared to be concealing a firearm.

When the officers tried to speak with the man, who later was identified as 33- year-old Malik Salaah, the suspect removed a gun from his waistband and fired multiple rounds at the officers inside the store and as he was exiting the business, the LAPD said.
