FRANKFORT, Ky. — With most people having a three-day weekend, many enjoyed their last bit of summer.

With the wonderful weather we've had Labor Day weekend, Canoe Kentucky said many families have taken advantage by getting out on the water here on the Kentucky River.

“We generally say in the paddle sports world this is kind of the last full holiday or summer weekend for us to operate," said Kali Sanders, general manager.

It’s the unofficial end of summer with Labor Day often being the last holiday weekend with a chance of warm, sunny weather and good vibes.

“As sad as we are to see the busy part of our season go, our team has worked so hard to provide a quality experience for those coming out to enjoy all that Kentucky waterways have to offer," Sanders said.
