LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Two days after the Red Raiders’ 67-7 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff, head football coach Joey McGuire addressed the injury status of quarterback Behren Morton, who limped off the field in the second quarter after a sack. McGuire says his condition does not appear to be severe.

“I think the thing that was the saving grace was his ankle turned, and so that kept all the pressure from totally going from leg- to all the way up his knee, but he’s really sore, but every X-rays and MRI’s have come back negative, so it’s a more muscle soreness,” he said. Morton’s status from playing in the Kent State game is still uncertain. During his 1 ½ quarters of play, he threw for four touchdowns and 201 yards.
