SHELBYVILLE, Kentucky — Around 200 people gathered for a "Workers Over Billionaires" rally in downtown Shelbyville on Labor Day.

"I'm out here fighting, and it's because I'm a mom," Tarah LeBlanc said.

She and her husband, Alex, raise three kids while working in energy sales, but Alex finds his friends delay big life decisions like parenthood.

"About a third of the people I know, my age, don't have kids because they never felt like they could financially support them or have the time to do it and work what it would take to financially support them," he said.

They blamed a lagging minimum wage, corporations buying and renting out single-family homes and the 2010, Citizens United decision from the U.S. Supreme Court that uncapped independent political spending.
