A vegetation fire in El Dorado Hills broke out on Labor Day, quickly growing in size and prompting evacuations, officials said.

According to the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, the Valley Fire broke out off Sweet Valley Road around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The fire was initially reported at 15 acres, but has grown to 35 acres with zero containment, according to the Cal Fire Amador-El Dorado Unit. Multiple agencies are assisting and Cal Fire is in unified command with the sheriff's office, firefighters said.
