TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — As Governor Ron DeSantis and Attorney General James Uthmeier fight for a mid-decade census in the ongoing redistricting battle, could districts in the Tampa Bay area be targeted?

Political analyst, Tara Newsom says there are a number of seats Republicans have their eyes on flipping, one of them being U.S. Representative Kathy Castor's 14th congressional district, but Governor DeSantis is also drawing attention to other areas like South Florida. "North of I-4, I think, is a pretty sound map. I don't think there's any basis, I think when you get into central, but particularly southeast Florida, there starts to become questions," said Governor DeSantis.
