LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Drivers should expect some delays as work on a $150 million interstate construction project in downtown Louisville gets underway.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), crews will replace three aging bridges that carry I-65 over Kentucky and South Brook Streets; Hill Street, a CSX rail line and South Preston Street; and Bradley Avenue.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-2027, however road closures begin a lot sooner.
Old Louisville road closures
Starting Wednesday, Sept. 3, the intersections of both South Brook/Kentucky Streets, and Hill Street/Burnett Avenue in Old Louisville will be closed as crews work on the underside of I-65.
These closures are expected to remain in place until spring 2027.
