MADISON (WKOW) -- As Labor Day is celebrated, the future of union rights in Wisconsin is once again front and center.
That's because of Act 10 .
27 News spoke with union workers at LaborFest, an event celebrating workers with live music, food and family activities, about how they feel as the law moves through the court system.
"It was a very confusing and hard time," said Madison Teachers Incorporated's Andrea Missureli about when Act 10 was passed in 2011. She was just starting her teaching career at the time.
The law was meant to save school districts and local governments money. It stripped most public employees of many of their bargaining rights.
