A motorcyclist killed in a collision with a fire department truck last week was identified Monday, Sept. 1.

The crash occurred at 8:36 p.m. Friday at Chambers Avenue and State Street, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Responding officers found that a small motorcycle had crashed with a fire department engine. Emergency personnel tried to help the motorcyclist, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Joseph Cobb of Hemet.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash and are investigating it.
