SPOKANE, Wash. – A solemn procession is making its way through the region, honoring Reuben Romero, a wildland firefighter who passed away last month in Montana.
Romero experienced a cardiac emergency while fighting the Bevins Creek fire in Madison County.
The Rocky Rocker Volunteer Fire Department shared images of the procession, celebrating the life of Romero, who had 20 years of experience in battling wildfires.
The procession will carry his body to Spokane International Airport for a flight home.
Romero’s dedication to fighting wildfires is remembered by the community, and his contribution to public safety is deeply appreciated.
