LEBANON, Ore. - The Lebanon Fire District has unveiled its newly restored antique International hose wagon at Station 31, according to district officials.
LFD authorities said that the wagon, dating back to 1917-1921, was the first motorized fire apparatus in Lebanon and served the community through the 1930s. The restoration was made possible by Division Chiefs Mark Fitzwater and John Tacy, along with volunteers and Lebanon High School students. Their hard work ensures this historic piece is preserved for public display.
Although it won't be back in service, the wagon will remind visitors of the evolution of fire services and the traditions that built the foundation for today's operations.
