WINTERSET, Iowa -- The upcoming jury trial for embattled Madison County Treasurer Amanda DeVos, 38, has been postponed.
The trial was scheduled to begin on September 16. Court filings show the prosecution cites "scheduling concerns" and has requested that the pre-trial conference and the subsequent jury trial be rescheduled for a later date.
The new dates will be scheduled during a trial scheduling conference on September 11. DeVos is expected to attend by phone, according to court records.
DeVos faces four criminal charges stemming from alleged misconduct as the Madison County Treasurer, including Felonious Misconduct in Office, Tampering with Records, Fraudulent Practice in the third degree, and third-degree Theft.
