A right-wing InfoWars host made what he called a "shocking announcement" Monday night that he was leaving Alex Jones' signature conspiracy theory show, because he's "too anti-Trump."

Owen Shroyer, best known as the host of the "War Room" show on the far-right website, told viewers in a livestream Monday night that he was making a "shocking announcement."

"I am done at InfoWars," he said. "This may come as a shocking announcement for you tonight. It may not."

Shroyer has been involved in several controversies, including spreading conspiracy theories, participating in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, and facing legal action for his actions.

Shroyer launched into a lengthy explanation as to why he was parting ways with Jones, and "what went wrong."

"I'm sorry that it had to end so abruptly if you want to say that," he said.

Shroyer said he had just gotten off the phone with Jones within the last hour, and "that was it." He framed his exit as his decision, but emphasized he tried to salvage the two's relationship.

The host called out that he had taken a lot of time off recently and that last week, he walked off a show mid-air. He said Jones interrupted his show and demanded that he find a guest to discuss the breaking news.

"I kind of just reached the point of no return and walked off the studio," said Shroyer, who called it "upsetting" that Jones tried to explain his departure as a "family emergency."

When Shroyer told Jones he wanted to finish out the week after the Labor Day holiday, Jones rebuffed the offer and said Shroyer wasn't needed.

Shroyer later noted that Jones had been calling him "negative," a "pessimist," and "too anti-Trump" in the weeks ahead of his departure.

"Maybe he's right. Maybe I'm too negative now, maybe I'm too much of a pessimist now, maybe I'm too anti-Trump now," said Shroyer.
