MCDONALD, Pa. —
A report of a man firing shots at police led to a SWAT situation in McDonald, Allegheny County, on Monday night.
Police said preliminary information shows the situation began a little after 7:30 p.m. when they got a call about a man in distress on the 300 block of Fairmont Street. Advertisement
Responding officers encountered the man, who police said yelled obscenities, then went back into the home and came back out firing multiple rounds.
Police vehicles and other vehicles were struck by the gunfire but no one was hurt.
Police said the man then barricaded himself inside the home.
The SWAT team was called at around 9:50 p.m. and police said the man surrendered peacefully at around 11:10 p.m.
Police said they’ll consult with the district attorney’s office to determin
