LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Earlier Monday afternoon, a DPS Trooper attempted to stop a Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation while traveling on Loop 20 approaching IH-35.

What should have been a routine stop, turned into a pursuit. The passenger car failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued shortly after. The vehicle traveled on IH-35 until exiting onto Mann Road.

The vehicle then traveled back onto IH-35 where it then took the W. Calton Road exit. While traveling on Santa Ursula approaching W. Calton Rd. it rear ended a black Toyota Corolla where several passengers exited the vehicle.

With the assistance of US Border Patrol, a total of eight passengers were apprehended.

The juvenile driver and one adult male passenger will be charged with human smuggling and evading arrest. US Border Patrol
