WIGGINS, Miss. (WLOX) - While many South Mississippians spent Labor Day with family, others spent the holiday grieving and healing from their children’s fatal overdose.
At a hotel in Wiggins, a summit of sorts was held for those families. Lisa Shoemake, who lost her 16-year-old to fentanyl, organized the event, in part, to invite Texas Pictures. The Houston-based film company has a series that spotlights fentanyl deaths from the perspective of grieving families across the United States.
“Mostly, parents come in and share their stories of how they lost a child to illicit fentanyl,” said the company’s owner and director, Glen Muse.
