LONG VALLEY JUNCTION, Kane County — One person died in a crash after a semitruck left the roadway near the Kane and Garfield County border.
A semitruck pulling a trailer was traveling south on U.S. 89 just north of Long Valley Junction and into Garfield County when the semi veered off the roadway to the right for an unknown reason, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said. Initially, police reported the crash occurred on the Kane County side of the border.
"The vehicle traveled through rough terrain and was stopped abruptly by an embankment," he said.
The trailer overtook the front of the truck, dislodging the cab body from the chassis. The cab continued to roll, striking an unattended vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the road, Roden
