Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp used his family’s annual Labor Day picnic at Chester Frost Park to officially launch his campaign for a second term — and to rally support for fellow Republicans running in upcoming state and local races.
“Part of what we’re doing tonight is we’re announcing that we’re running again and we’re going to finish that eight-year mission that we started three years ago today,” Wamp told supporters.
U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn was among the several Republican leaders joining Wamp at the event, praising his leadership and endorsing his re-election bid.
“He has a goal, and that goal is to make certain that Hamilton County is the very best place,” Blackburn said.
