LOGAN – City officials and representatives of the Utah Department of Transportation are reminding local motorists that construction work on the 600 South Underpass Project will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
When that project is completed in the summer of 2026, 600 South will be permanently closed at Main Street.
UDOT officials expect minimal impact on Main Street travel lanes in the immediate future, however.
Impacts during the initial phase of the project, from September to December of this year, are anticipated to include occasional shoulder, pedestrian sidewalk and outside lane closures.
Following a seasonal hiatus from December 2025 to March 2026, construction impacts are expected to include variable lane closures and traffic may often be reduced to one lane in each direction.
