Exclusive : A Melbourne mother-of-three has spoken of her terror after two carjackers stole her car from her driveway with her twin boys inside.

Stephanie Wynne was getting ready to drop the four-year-old boys off at kindergarten at 6.30am yesterday when she turned her back for a moment and the thieves pounced.

Wynne and a neighbour sprinted down the street to chase after the vehicle as the mother's seven-year-old daughter stood in shock.

During the incident, the mother said she had "endless thoughts of fear and terror".

"I'm horrified, scared, what's happening next, I don't know where they're going, will I get my kids back?" Wynne told 9News.

The twin boys were dropped off at a dead end street uninjured but shaken by the incident.
