DU QUOIN — Authorities are investigating a suspected homicide after a traffic stop in rural Perry County ended with the arrest of a driver and the discovery of a body inside the vehicle.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information in the early evening hours of Sept. 1 about a possible homicide that had occurred at an unknown location. A description of a suspect vehicle was quickly circulated to area law enforcement.
