And when he heard the news, he was thrilled.
Because being named a starting quarterback for the Inland Lakes Bulldogs is a big deal these days.
“I was really happy – I worked pretty hard for it,” Kolly said. “It means a lot. There’s big expectations, but I’m proud to be doing it.”
Knowing his coaches and teammates had all the confidence in the world in him, the Inland Lakes senior signal-caller went out and put on a dazzling display against rival Onaway on opening night, throwing four touchdown passes and rushing for another in a 50-0 victory.
