STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York City Department of Transportation has installed new traffic safety improvements outside a Graniteville school in preparation for the upcoming school year.
When classes start Thursday at the Staten Island School of Civic Leadership and co-located special education school, parents, teachers and students will see a host of new pedestrian safety changes along Jules Drive, Regis Drive and Farragut Avenue.
To improve safety near the school — located a stone’s throw from the Staten Island Expressway — the DOT has redesigned the roadway and nearby intersections.
