Top-seeded Jannik Sinner of Italy shook off a mediocre performance in the previous round and routed Kazakhstan's 23rd seed Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open on Monday in New York.

The defending champion will face countryman and No. 10 seed Lorenzo Musetti in the quarterfinals Wednesday. Musetti hit 27 winners and advanced with a 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 victory over Jaume Munar of Spain.

No. 25 Felix Auger-Aliassime is back in a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time in 3 1/2 years after recording a 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 15 Andrey Rublev in the U.S. Open Round of 16 at New York.

Auger-Aliassime racked up 42 winners at Arthur Ashe Stadium while easily dispatching Rublev, beating the Russian for just the second time in nine all-time meetings.
