MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), announced that the resurfacing of Alabama Highway 24 will resume on Tuesday, September 2.

The $2.7 Million project includes milling and paving 5.5 miles of the divided four-lane highway from SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur to the Lawrence County line.

Please expect delays due to single-lane closures. ALDOT officials are expecting the project to be completed by this fall.

Earlier this summer, Grayson Carter and Son completed a $2.5 million resurfacing of 4.6 miles of SR-24 in Lawrence County from the county line to CR-317.

According to ALDOT, the contractor has nearly completed the $3.3 million resurfacing of nearly five miles of SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur. Remaining work items include treatment of the sho
