On this Labor Day, KETV is taking a closer look at some of Nebraska's labor data.

Nebraska's labor market is faring better than most, according to data from the Department of Labor. The state's 3.0% unemployment rate is largely unchanged over the last year and ranks 7th best in the United States.

As of December 2024, the average weekly wage was $1,228, or about $63,000 per year. Of Nebraska's 93 counties, Dakota County averaged the lowest at $1,163, and Stanton County averaged the highest at $1,587. Douglas County ranked third.
