FLINT, MI - You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing TLC, Coolio, Boyz II Men, All-4-One and Hootie on the radio.

The year was 1995. There were no cell phones in classrooms. Instead of laptops, students used pencils and notepads kept in their Trapper Keepers and they could get a pop at the cafeteria with just three coins.

The Flint Southwestern Academy class of ‘95 walked the halls of their high school for the first time since graduation day 30 years ago at their reunion this weekend.

“It feels the same, it smells the same, it looks the same,” Monica Carrington-Wells said as she took a tour of her old stomping grounds. “It feels exactly like it did when we were here 30 years ago.”
