Lake Lanier Islands Resort is expanding its footprint with a new chapel and garden, a project rooted in family memory as much as hospitality.

The Williams Chapel, set to open September 21, honors Sara D. Williams, the late wife of resort owner Virgil R. Williams. The surrounding gardens are dedicated to their daughter, Mendy Williams Bowling, who died in 2021. Together, the spaces are designed to serve as a new centerpiece for weddings, vow renewals, and community gatherings at the resort.
