Absolute Superman kills his own parents in a shocking DC panel that adds a dark twist to the Man of Steel's origin story. Up to this point, Superman has gone through hell in the Absolute universe. From his escape from the dying Krypton to his torture at the hands of Brainiac and Ra's al Ghul, Superman hasn't caught a break.

Despite having the chance to kill the dying assassin, Superman chose to spare Peacemaker Chris Smith , which led Ra's Al Ghul to shoot Superman with a Kryptonite bullet and Talia al Ghul to finish incapacitating him. Superman spared Smith's life because he remembered his father's pacifist philosophy, which is certainly having an effect on his unconscious psyche now. On an operating table, Superman's mind is back on Krypton.
