A 46-year-old man wounded in a Compton shooting last week who died at a hospital was publicly identified Monday.
He was Aaron Hammer, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. He was shot at around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the 13000 block of South Long Beach Boulevard, between Alondra and Greenleaf boulevards.
That evening, deputies spotted a vehicle with three suspects inside on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway and began a pursuit, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspects exited the freeway at Central Avenue in Compton, then drove to 139th Street and Parmlee Avenue, where they bailed out of their vehicle, sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Koerner told City News Service.
