Bay St. George RCMP are looking for the public’s help identifying an ATV driver who they say rolled their vehicle while trying to flee from them.

Just before 7:00 p.m. Saturday. police noticed a blue ATV towing a trailer loaded with lumber driving along Oceanview Drive in Degrau.

The driver was not wearing a helmet, and an attempt was made to pull the ATV over.

RCMP say the driver fled, nearly hitting a police cruiser in the process. The trailer disconnected from the quad, and the driver took off into the woods.

Police later located the ATV stopped in a driveway and the driver once again fled from police, but the suspect lost control of the machine, and it rolled over.

The driver then fled on foot.

The ATV was impounded, but the search for the driver continues.
