South Dakota is creating a beer to celebrate the country's 250th anniversary – and Platte Creek Brewing Company is going to brew it.

The beer, called Dakota Liberty, is the result of a partnership between the Geddes-based brewery and the South Dakota State Historical Society, the brewery said on social media , and it was unveiled at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron over the weekend.

"The fun part is it's a fundraiser for the Historical Society," the brewery said. "So a portion of all the merchandise that gets sold in connection will go back into preserving some of South Dakota's amazing history."
