MADISON (WKOW) — The Badgers will likely be without their starting quarterback when they face off against Middle Tennessee State this weekend.
On Tuesday, head coach Luke Fickell said he doesn't think Billy Edwards Jr. will play in the game.
Edwards Jr. suffered a sprain to his left knee during Wisconsin's opening game of the season against Miami Ohio at Camp Randall.
Edwards Jr. suffered the non-contact injury in the second quarter, going to the ground in obvious discomfort. It's not yet clear how much time Edwards Jr. could miss.
Danny O’Neil, who started 11 games for San Diego State as a freshman last season, took over for Edwards against Miami Ohio and went 12 of 19 for 120 yards with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Vinny Anthony and an interception. He also scored on a 1-yard run.
