For Iowa Western head coach Scott Strohmeier, Saturday's game was bigger than football.
In May, his daughter, Emily, died at the age of 22.
Emily was 10 days away from receiving a kidney transplant when she died.
Many of the fans in attendance on Saturday called attention to the cause, wearing neon green for living organ donor awareness.
The team also sported ribbons and stickers on their helmets to show their support.
"That's what this community is about. You know, they rally through all the things that we went through, you know, for when it happened," he said. "That's what makes this place special, and my wife and I were very proud that it was even an option to do. And to see the support. I wasn't surprised, but it's humbling, I guess."
