Oregon will stay in state to play a marquee men's basketball nonconference game this coming season.

The Ducks announced Sept. 2 they will play Gonzaga at Moda Center in Portland on Dec. 21, with game time and broadcast information coming at a later date.

It'll mark just the second time the two Pacific Northwest programs have played each other since 2000, with the last matchup coming in 2019 at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in The Bahamas. The Bulldogs won that game 73-72 in overtime.

“This is a good nonconference game for our fans, especially for those in the Portland area,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said in a statement released by the school. “Playing in the home of the Trail Blazers is always special and we look forward to this matchup with Gonzaga.”
