BARABOO, Wis. (WKOW) — The excitement could be felt outside of Gordon L. Willson Elementary on Tuesday as students returned for the first day of school.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students are back in the classroom, and Principal Sarah Brings said the start of the year is a reminder of why she loves her job.

“The growth that the kids make and seeing them grow and thrive as little people — in their learning, their social emotional well-being — it’s just incredible,” Brings said. “There’s nothing like seeing the growth kids do throughout the year.”

This year also marks Stephen Considine’s first full year as superintendent of the Baraboo School District. He said the district is entering the year fully staffed, which is something he is looking forward to.
