A driver who allegedly struck and killed a bicyclist and fled the scene in Pinewood last week has been arrested, authorities said.

Michelson Jeancy, 45, was arrested Saturday on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and tampering with physical evidence, Miami-Dade jail records showed. Miami-Dade Corrections

The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 25 in the 1200 block of Northwest 119th Street.

The victim, 63-year-old Gregory Hughes , was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a Honda Civic, Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office officials said.

An arrest report said Hughes hit the windshield and was thrown to the roadway, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A surveillance camera from a gas station and business next door captured the moment Hughes was struck.
